Harbour Stations

The manoeuvre, before the moment.

Lay the plan: your berth, your boat, your lines, and the order everything happens in.

Mooring Lab

Change the wind. See what changes.

Ask what if: swing the wind, run the stream harder, and watch the same plan hold — or not.

Slowahead

Slow ahead. Think ahead.

Take it one step at a time: the guided way through your first plans, at harbour speed.

The approach view
The approach — distance to the berth, closing speed, and where she has to stop.
A rope to a cleat
A rope to a cleat — every fitting in reach ringed, the one under your thumb picked out.
The manoeuvre plan
The plan — which side she lies, who goes ashore, the order the lines go on and come off.

The trainerFree, for ever

The first twenty mistakes should not happen on the water.

Every boat, every lesson, every harbour the community has published. No account, no network, nothing withheld.

  • The simulator, offline, on your own iPad
  • Eight graded lessons — the box berth between piles among them
  • Debrief, replay and comparison of saved runs
  • The harbour editor and the boat builder
Free is the floor, not a trial.
PlusPricing at launch

You know how to berth. You do not know that marina, that boat, that wind.

For the skipper who wants to keep getting better after the course, and before a charter.

  • Advanced packs: stern-to with lazy lines, a river quay on the tide, twin screw and pods, single-handed
  • The cloud library across every device
  • The computed boat, from the lab
  • Private sharing links, and a weighted vote on the roadmap
One price everywhere, monthly or yearly.
Schools & clubsCodes, on invoice

Your hour on the water is your dearest hour.

The organisation pays for organising; every student gets Plus for the term it buys.

  • Assignments and the class view — who practised, and where they left your track
  • Your pontoon and your boats, set up for you
  • Your own demonstration as the reference run
  • An alumni room, and a listing in the school finder
Clubs and flotillas: the free group, always.
Charter basesPer booking

Every berthing scratch is your money.

A code in the booking confirmation: they practise your marina in your boat before they fly.

  • Your marina and your boat types, set up once
  • One code per booking, cheaper than one gelcoat repair
  • See who practised before they arrive
  • The same class view a school gets
Rental fleets and boat-sharing: the same code, per rental.
InsurersIn conversation

Berthing is your commonest claim, and the one that practice prevents.

A code per hull policy, and training you can count rather than take on trust: every run is replayed on the server, so a completed exercise is a fact, not a self-report.

  • A code in the policy documents, on the marina and the boat the policy covers
  • Graded on seamanship, never on the clock
  • A completion report per policyholder — enough to justify a discount to an actuary
  • The same shape works for rescue and volunteer crews, who berth rarely and must berth well

04 · The harbour commons

Real harbours, edited by the people who berth in them.

Cleats, piles, depths and the note about the wind — published under an open licence and downloaded to sail offline.

Runs on a harbour: how somebody got into box 12 in a westerly, replayed and sailed yourself.

Questions with a situation attached, and answers that are runs — not opinions about them.

05 · What is ferry gliding? The technique behind the name

ferry gliding /ˈfɛri ˈɡlaɪdɪŋ/ · n.

A boat-handling technique: holding a vessel at an angle to wind or stream so the forces move her sideways under control — onto a berth, or off one. Two words when it is the technique; one word when it is this app.

One email when it opens

No registration when it does — the app is a PWA: load it once and it works offline. School, club, charter base or insurer? Say so and we will write properly.
